Hong Kong Billionaire Henry Fok 13 Children & Family Reached Private Settlement over $1.45 Billion Estate after 15 Years, Judge Congratulates Family

The 13 children & family of the late Hong Kong billionaire Henry Fok has reached a private settlement over his $1.45 billion (HKD 11 billion) estate, 15 years after his death in 2006. In 2006, the late Henry Fok was one of Hong Kong’s top 10 wealthiest individual with more than $3 billion of personal fortune. In 2012, the family has agreed to end all legal actions but in 2016, lawsuits were filed due to a dispute over a development project in Mainland China under the family holding company Henry Fok Esatets. The project is to convert Nansha city (Henry Fok family ancestry) in Guangzhou into a technology hub. Henry Fok was one of the most successful and powerful businessman in Hong Kong with business interests in real estate, petroleum, casinos and restaurants, and was also the President of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and the President of the Real Estate Developers Association of Hong Kong. Henry Fok had also founded one of the largest philanthropic organisations in Hong Kong, the Fok Ying Tung Foundation in 1984. Hong Kong Justice David Lok Kai-Hong, presiding over the legal proceeding, congratulated the family reaching the private settlement.
