Former Chairman of India conglomerate Tata Sons & billionaire ($29 billion fortune) Cyrus Pallonji Mistry has died in a car accident in India (4/9/22), who was ousted from $300 billion Tata Sons as Chairman in 2016. His father (Pallonji Shapoorji Mistry) had just passed away in June 2022. Tata Sons is the holding company of one of India’s largest conglomerate Tata Group. India Prime Minister Narendra Modi: “The untimely demise of Shri Cyrus Mistry is shocking. He was a promising business leader who believed in India’s economic prowess. His passing away is a big loss to the world of commerce and industry. Condolences to his family and friends. May his soul rest in peace.” Cyrus Mistry is the 6th Chairman of Tata Group. Cyrus Mistry’s father (Pallonji Shapoorji Mistry) founded Shapoorji Pallonji (SP) Group, and is the largest single shareholder of Tata Group with 18.4% shares. Cyrus Mistry is the brother-in-law of Noel Tata and half-brother of Ratan Tata. The SP Group is a separate empire and has built landmark projects in India including the Reserve Bank of India (Central Bank) and the Oberoi Hotel in Mumbai (India).
