Former People’s Bank of China Deputy Governor Fan Yifei Arrested for Suspected Bribery & Corruption

The former People’s Bank of China (PBC) Deputy Governor (2015 to 2022) Fan Yifei had been arrested for suspected bribery & corruption. In 2022 November, Fan Yifei was placed under investigation and on 9th June 2023, he was expelled from the Chinese Communist Party. Fan Yifei was born in 1964. He has a PhD degree in Economics from the Renmin University and a master’s degree (Master of International Affairs) from the Columbia University. He became Deputy Governor of the PBC and Member of CPC PBC Committee in February 2015. Before his appointment in February 2002 as Assistant President of China Construction Bank, he served in the China Construction Bank and its affiliates on various posts, successively as Assistant General Manager and concurrently Manager of Planning and Accounting Department of China Construction Bank Trust and Investment Company, Deputy Director of Capital Planning Department, General Manager of Accounting Department, and General Manager of Planning and Accounting Department at the headquarters of China Construction Bank.
