Malaysia Hong Leong Bank (Market capitalization $8.1 billion, MYR 41 billion) new Group CEO Kevin Lam starts CEO role on 1st July 2023 (today), succeeding Domenic Fuda who has retired on 30th June 2023. Kevin Lam brings with him over 30 years of banking, technology and leadership experience across regional and international banks in several geographies. Prior to joining HLBB (Hong Leong Bank Berhad), Kevin served as the Head of TMRW Group Digital Banking of United Overseas Bank Limited (“UOB”), for its key regional markets based in Singapore. Prior to that, he worked in various Asean markets for a decade including in Jakarta as the President Director of UOB Indonesia, and in Kuala Lumpur where he headed Personal Financial Services at UOB Malaysia and later served as its Deputy Chief Executive Officer where he oversaw its Wholesale Banking business and Technology and Operations. Previously, he had also headed consumer banking loans, sales and distribution in Singapore with UOB, after time with various international banks and technology firms based in Singapore, Hong Kong and the USA. Kevin holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the National University of Singapore. Domenic Fuda – Since joining HLBB in 2016, Domenic has spearheaded the growth of HLBB, with a very strong focus on customer centric solutions, technology & digital investments and sustainability as strategic pillars for its current and future growth. Under Domenic’s leadership, the organisation has seen transformation in delivery channels, strong compliance and risk management foundations and industry leading strategic initiatives in ESG, as well as leading financial metrics in productivity and consistent returns. Hong Leong Bank is one of Malaysia’s top 5 banks – Maybank, CIMB, Public Bank, RHB Bank and Hong Leong Bank.

Kevin Lam (On Linkedin, 1/7/23) – Today at the start of our new financial year 23/24, I am honoured and excited to be taking over as the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Hong Leong Bank Berhad
With the strong legacy left by my predecessor Domenic Fuda who has taken the bank from strength to strength in the past 7.5 years, I would like to pay tribute to his work which is evidenced by our results and performance, especially in leading us to emerge from the pandemic stronger and more resilient.
It is now a challenge that I relish, to build on that legacy and take HLB to the next level.
We will build a strong ASEAN franchise driven by new engines of growth. Wealth Management will be one of our top priorities, as will our continued and deepened commitment to the SME community, amongst other transformative programs that we will soon undertake.
Our people and our customers will remain the central focus of all our strategies, programs and initiatives. We will double down on our brand promise of “Built Around You”, which puts our customers and the communities we serve at the centre of everything that we do, and guides our actions and commitments to them.
With the strong support from our experienced management team and the stewardship of our Chairman and Board of Directors, I believe HLB is well positioned for strong sustainable growth domestically and regionally.
