20th June 2023 – JP Morgan Private Bank has appointed 20-year JP Morgan veteran Paul Thompson as Head of Singapore & Southeast Asia, succeeding James Wey who is leaving after 15 years at JP Morgan (2023 September). James Wey had joined JP Morgan in 2008 after completing his MBA at Duke University (United States), and prior, was at top management consulting firm McKinsey & Co. Paul Thompson has been at JP Morgan for more than 20 years (Investment Bank & Private Bank), in the United States and Asia. In 2021, Paul Thompson was appointed the Head of Hong Kong and the Philippines for JP Morgan Private Bank. In his new role as JP Morgan Private Bank Head of Singapore & Southeast Asia, Paul Thompson will report to JP Morgan Private Bank Asia Chief ExecutiveKam Shing Kwang.
