Canada financial service group Sun Life has appointed CFO Manjit Singh as President of Sun Life Asia based in Hong Kong (effective 18/3/24) succeeding Ingrid Johnson who is appointed as Vice-Chair of Strategic Partnerships, and hires Christopher Albrecht as Singapore CEO (1/1/24). On Manjit Singh as President of Sun Life Asia: “Manjit Singh will be responsible Sun Life’s strategic pillars encompassing life, health, and wealth management businesses in eight Asian markets – China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam.” On Christopher Albrecht as Sun Life Singapore CEO: “Christopher Albrecht will report to Karim Gilani, the President of Greater China, Singapore, and International High Net Worth at Sun Life Financial. Albrecht’s responsibilities will include steering the strategic and operational direction of Sun Life Singapore, aiming at long-term sustainable growth and diversification of the business model, while also focusing on talent development within the organization. Before joining Sun Life, Albrecht held significant positions in several insurance companies, including HSBC Insurance (Singapore), Old Mutual International, Swiss Life, and the 1291 Group in Hong Kong. His career in the industry has seen him work in various locations, starting in the UK, moving to Singapore in 2005, and later relocating to Hong Kong in 2017.”
