Leading private equity firm Blackstone with $1 trillion AUM (Asset under Management) has raised $1.3 billion from HNWIs (high net worth individuals) for the new Blackstone Private Equity Strategies Fund (BXPE) with blended net IRR of 15%.  Investors in the fund require at least $5 million to invest, with the fund investing into Blackstone private equity platform in corporate private equity, secondaries, tactical opportunities, life sciences & growth-stage businesses.  Blackstone private equity platform manages $299 billion AUM.   Blackstone: BXPE offers eligible individual investors access to the world’s largest private equity platform in a single fund. BXPE aims to invest alongside the world’s largest private equity platform in areas where the firm sees opportunities.  BXPE invests dynamically across 15+ private equity strategies based on where the firm sees the best market opportunities across Blackstone’s private equity platform.  In November 2023, Blackstone has been reported to be closing the Blackstone Diversified Multi-Strategy fund with returns of -2% since 2020 & +4.5% since 2021, with AUM dropping 88.6% from $2.1 billion to $239 million (2019 to 2023: £1.7 billion to £192 million).  The Fund of Fund allocates to hedge funds including Two Sigma, Bayview, Emso, Seiga Asset Management &Magnetar Asset Management.  Blackstone Diversified Multi-Strategy fund was launched in 2014 with mandate to invest in a diversified blend of alternative strategies and hedge fund managers in a single daily liquid UCITS fund (Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities).  UCITS is European legal structure allowing retail investors access to the funds.
