Leading private equity firm Blackstone with $1 trillion AUM (Assets under Management) has increased the offer by $0.01 for Hipgnosis Songs Fund to $1.31 at $1.58 billion valuation, after Hipgnosis had incurred lower than expected advisor fees. Hipgnosis owns music rights of artists & writers including Shakira & Red Hot Chili Peppers. Hipgnosis is responsible for the Management of over 150 of the most successful and culturally relevant Song catalogues of all time with a Net Asset Value over $3 billion. Hipgnosis Song Management is the Investment Adviser for Hipgnosis Songs Fund (SONG.L) and Hipgnosis Songs Capital. Hipgnosis Songs Fund (HSF) is the UK investment company offering investors a pure-play exposure to Songs and associated musical intellectual property rights. Our focus is building a diversified Portfolio, acquiring Catalogues that are built around proven hit Songs of cultural importance by some of the most talented and important Songwriters globally. Our shares listed on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange in July 2018 and transferred to the Premium Segment of the Main Market in September 2019. Hipgnosis Songs Fund (HSF), which was founded by Merck Mercuriadis, is a Guernsey registered investment trust established to offer investors a pure-play exposure to songs and associated musical intellectual property rights. The Company has raised a total of almost £1.3 billion (gross equity capital) through its Initial Public Offering on 11 July 2018, and subsequent issues in April 2019, August 2019, October 2019, July 2020, September 2020, February 2021 and July 2021. In September 2019, Hipgnosis transferred its entire issued share capital to the Premium listing segment of the Official List of the FCA and to the London Stock Exchange’s Premium segment of the Main Market, and in March 2020 became a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index. Since April 2021, the Company has been resident in the UK for tax purposes and is recognised as an investment trust under applicable HMRC regulations.
