Australia Court Dismissed Fraud & Misleading Statements Charges Against ex-Macquarie Financial Advisor Warren Scott Acworth after Prosecution Presented No Evidence on 3rd October 2024

An Australia court has dismissed fraud & misleading statements charges against ex-Macquarie financial advisor Warren Scott Acworth, after the prosecution presented no evidence on 3rd October 2024.  Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC) 4/10/24: “Charges laid against former Macquarie financial adviser Warren Scott Acworth have been dismissed.  Mr Acworth had been charged with 27 offences, including 1) 6 counts of making false or misleading statements contrary to sections 1041E(1) and 1311(1) of the Corporations Act, 2) 6 counts of making a statement that was false contrary to section 64 of the ASIC Act (Cth), and 3) 5 counts of fraud contrary to section 408C(1)(e) of the Criminal Code (Qld)(22-299MR).  The prosecution was discontinued after a mention in the Brisbane Magistrate’s Court on 3 October 2024, where the CDPP offered no evidence and the Court dismissed all charges and discharged Mr Acworth.”
