China Tencent Music ($27 billion market value) has bought 10% of South Korea SM Entertainment at around $1.8 billion market value. SM Entertainment is one of South Korea leading agency managing K-pop artists including EXO, TVXQ, Super Junior, SHINee, Girls’ Generation, SM Town & Red Velvet. SM Entertainment was founded in 1995 by Lee Soo-man. Tencent Music parent is China technology giant Tencent ($598 billion market value). SM Entertainment – SM Entertainment is a South Korean multinational entertainment agency.
