Switzerland solar company Meyer Burger Technology has filed for United States Chapter 11 Bankruptcy with $500 million to $1 billion debt & $100 million to $500 million debt.  In 2025 May, Meyer Burger Technology Germany subsidiaries had filed for bankruptcy.  Meyer Burger was founded in 1953, and entered into the photovoltaic industry (Convert sunlight into electricity) in 1983.  Profile – Meyer Burger combines innovative cutting-edge technology with tradition and courage to create unique photovoltaic systems. These are manufactured sustainably with our production facilities.  As a manufacturer of high-performance photovoltaic cells and modules, we use the leading heterojunction/SmartWire technology developed by us. We define new standards in terms of energy yield and efficiency and combine these with first-class design. By transforming our business model from the manufacture of photovoltaic production equipment to the integrated production of solar cells and solar modules.  Our goal is to become the leading PV company in the world. Sustainability is to become an integral part of Meyer Burger’s business.
