Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank has been reported to be closing the Hong Kong branch by 2026 June, and relocating most of client operations to Singapore. Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank Hong Kong subsidiary for investment advisory services will continue to operate in Hong Kong. Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank is part of Japan financial group $19 Billion Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Group. Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank – Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, Limited (SuMi TRUST) was established through the merger of The Sumitomo Trust and Banking Co., Ltd. with Chuo Mitsui Trust and Banking, Ltd. and Chuo Mitsui Asset Trust and Banking Company, Ltd. on April 1, 2012. SuMi TRUST is Japan’s largest trust bank, with AUM of more than $800 Billion USD. The company provides commercial banking, securities brokerage, leasing, credit cards, and correspondents banking services. Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank conducts businesses across worldwide.
