Hong Kong asset manager Hang Seng Investment ($43 billion AUM) & JP Morgan Asset Management ($3.7 trillion AUM) have launched the Hang Seng JPMorgan US Equity Premium Income Active ETF (9/7/25) on Hong Kong Exchange (HKEX), providing investors with access to United States equity income themed ETF by selling index call options. The new ETF has been included in the HKEX list of designated securities eligible for short selling. Announcement (9/7/25): “Hang Seng Investment Management Limited (‘Hang Seng Investment’) is pleased to announce its collaboration with J.P. Morgan Asset Management (‘JPMAM’) to launch the Hang Seng JPMorgan US Equity Premium Income Active ETF (the ‘Fund’) which is listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (stock code: 3476) today. This marks the first US equity income themed ETF in Hong Kong, introducing the strategy of the world’s largest active ETF which employs a bottom-up, fundamental approach to constitute a US stock portfolio, with income enhancement feature by selling index call options. Offering Hong Kong investors a relatively defensive portfolio amid market uncertainties with distributable income, Hang Seng Investment additionally adopts a distribution smoothing mechanism, which aims to deliver relatively steady monthly dividend distributions … … The issue price of the Hang Seng JPMorgan US Equity Premium Income Active ETF is HKD 15 per unit. Units are listed for trading in board lot sizes of 500 units. The aggregate management fee for Listed Class Units is up to 0.7% per annum, with estimated annual ongoing charges of 0.85%. The ETF will launch Unlisted Class Units for wholesale distribution in the next stage. The Fund is a feeder fund that seeks to achieve its investment objective by investing substantially (at least 90% of its Net Asset Value) into the Master ETF. The Master ETF is not authorised by the SFC for offering to the public in Hong Kong. The management company of the Master ETF is JPMorgan Asset Management (Europe) S.à r.l., an entity that is not licensed by the SFC.”
