Leading private equity firm KKR ($664 billion AUM) has announced to buy a minority stake in Sweden travel technology companyEtraveli Group at $3.1 billion (€2.7 billion) valuation.Etraveli Group was founded in 2000 as Seat24, merged with Svenska Resegruppen (SRG) in 2007, and rebranded as Etraveli Group in 2017 after acquiring Greece e‑Travel.Etraveli Group – Etraveli Group is a leading tech platform for selling flights and encompasses several travel agencies. Initially founded in 2000 as Seat24, we were one of the first companies to offer online booking of flight tickets. In 2007, the merger of Seat24 and the travel agency SRG gave rise to Etraveli. Since then, we’ve cultivated a diverse portfolio of brands, including prominent online travel agencies like Mytrip, Gotogate, and Flightnetwork. Additionally, we operate Flygresor.se, Sweden’s #1 metasearch price comparison site.
