Indonesia TaniHub $25 Million Investment Fraud Investigation – Indonesia authorities have announced to detain 3 new suspects 1) BRI Ventures CEO Nicko Widjaja, 2) ex-BRI Ventures VP of Investments William Gozali & 3) ex-MDI Ventures VP of Investment Aldi Adrian Hartanto.  In 2025 July, Indonesia Telkom Indonesia ($17 billion market value) corporate venture capital arm MDI Ventures Director Donald Wihardja has been detained for investigation on $25 million investment into TaniHub & related entities (2019 to 2023) by MDI Ventures & BRI Ventures.  In 2021, MDI Ventures invested $65.5 million in Series B funding into TaniHub.  In 2024, TaniHub licence was revoked by Indonesia authority, and ordered to liquidate after loan defaults & mismanagement of funds.  MDI Ventures – MDI Ventures is a multi-stage Venture Capital firm backed by Telkom Indonesia with offices in Indonesia, Singapore, and the United States with extended offices in Europe and South Korea. Since 2016, MDI has been trusted in managing multiple funds and has invested in over 80+ companies across 12 countries.  MDI currently manages unique fund with different angles, contributing to all stages of investment. MDI unified their investment operations using one-team, multiple-fund method to maintain efficiency and make sure no opportunities are left behind.  MDI is also mandated to manage incubator & accelerator programs, and also an angel investment network.
