The world’s largest private equity firm Blackstone ($1.2 trillion AUM) has hired BlackRock Kimberly Kim as Senior Managing Director & Head of APAC Insurance Institutional Client Solutions for Blackstone Credit & Insurance (BXCI). Kimberly Kim has 22 years financial industry & asset management industry experience at Deutsche Bank, DWS Group & BlackRock and held senior roles including as Head of Financial Institutional Group APAC, Head of Global Consultant Relations APAC & Regional Head of Insurance APAC ex-Japan. Announcement (30/9/25): “ Blackstone (NYSE: BX) today announced that Kimberly Kim will join the firm as a Senior Managing Director and Head of APAC Insurance Institutional Client Solutions for Blackstone Credit & Insurance (“BXCI”). This is a newly created role to support the continued expansion of the business in the APAC region. Kimberly brings over 20 years of experience in the APAC insurance market. Prior to Blackstone, she was with BlackRock as Head of Financial Institutions Coverage in APAC. Blackstone manages over $250 billion of insurance client capital across private credit, liquid credit, and other strategies, up 20% year-over-year, and $484 billion in corporate and real estate credit assets, making it the world’s largest third-party focused credit business. BXCI continues to significantly scale its business in APAC. It has committed to more than 20 deals in the region over the last three years, expanded relationships with investors, including with some of the region’s largest insurers, and doubled its headcount with key hires across Sydney, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Singapore.”
