UK private credit asset manager Park Square Capital has raised $150 million anchor investment from Japan Nomura for new dedicated United States senior direct lending fund (U.S. Loan Partners Fund) focusing on mid-market senior secured lending in the United States, and forms strategic alliance with Nomura to strengthen origination & underwriting in the United States senior direct lending market and and access to private credit opportunities from Nomura United States Investment Banking Division. Announcement (14/11/25): “Park Square Capital (“Park Square”), a leading global private credit platform founded in Europe more than 20 years ago, and Nomura, a global financial services group, today announced that they have entered a strategic alliance to further strengthen their origination and underwriting efforts in the U.S. senior direct lending market. This alliance will complement Park Square’s existing origination capabilities in the U.S., and will form the cornerstone to U.S. Loan Partners, Park Square’s inaugural dedicated U.S. senior direct lending vehicle. Park Square’s U.S. Loan Partners fund focuses on mid-market senior secured lending, building on Park Square’s more than ten-year track record investing in North American junior capital and broadly syndicated loans. As an anchor investor in U.S. Loan Partners, Nomura has committed $150 million as a Limited Partner in the fund, ensuring alignment and reinforcing its conviction in Park Square’s disciplined, highly selective investment approach. The strategic alliance grants Park Square access to unitranche private credit opportunities sourced through Nomura’s U.S. Investment Banking Division, including both its differentiated Acquisition and Leveraged Finance and Advisory businesses. It will also meaningfully increase Park Square’s underwriting capabilities, enabling the firm to provide full financing solutions to larger transactions, while also creating compelling co-investment opportunities for limited partners. Drawing on Park Square’s rigorous due diligence and highly selective approach to asset selection, U.S. Loan Partners will look to deliver tailored financing solutions to middle-market companies across the U.S. This strategic alliance aligns with Nomura’s vision to strengthen its private markets capabilities and enhance its U.S. Investment Banking franchise, as outlined by Nomura Group’s CEO, Kentaro Okuda, during the company’s 2025 Investor Day presentation.
