Canada Fairstone Bank has announced to buy Laurentian Bank for $1.3 billion (CAD 1.9 billion) in all-cash deal representing +20% premium to closing price (1/12/25), and National Bank of Canada to buy Laurentian Bank retail & SME portfolio (Retail Loans CAD 3.3 billion, Retail Deposits CAD 7.6 billion, SME Loans CAD 800 million, SME Deposits CAD 600 million).
