United States $3.5 billion (2021 valuation) vacuum cleaner company (Roomba) iRobot has filed for United States Chapter 11 Bankruptcy, with China creditor Picea Robotics to receive 100% equity in exchange to cancel $190 million debt & additional $74 million debt. Other iRobot creditors & suppliers will be paid in full. iRobot was founded in 1990 by 3 members of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Artificial Intelligence Lab. iRobot – iRobot is a global consumer robot company that designs and builds thoughtful robots and intelligent home innovations that are made to make life better. iRobot introduced the first Roomba robot vacuum in 2002.
