An ex-Bank of America employee Mario Martinez (Age 40) has been charged in United States court for stealing $500,000 from a disabled woman (age 47) who is a customer of Bank of America for around 20 years. Mario Martinez was stationed at a Bank of America branch (8840 SW 136th St). The disabled woman inherited a large sum of money & Mario Martinez presented himself as a financial advisor, and setup joint bank account in both their names. In 2023, Mario Martinez borrowed $120,000 from the disabled woman, and transferred money from disabled woman inheritance to his own account in 2024. In 2024 December, a Bank of America investigator called the disabled woman of unauthorized transactions.
