Hong Kong Academy for Wealth Legacy (HKAWL) has appointed 4 industry leaders as Board Members (17/1/26) – 1) Ng Teng Fong family Sino Group Chairman Daryl Ng Win-kong appointed as Vice-Chairman, 2) Co-founder of YK Pao School in Shanghai Philip Sohmen appointed as Vice-Chairman, 3) Chartwell Capital founder & CIO Ronald Chan Wai-yan & 4) President & Executive Director of Dorsett Hospitality International Winnie Chiu Wing-kwan.  Hong Kong Chow Tai Took family with $30 billion fortune 3rd generation Adrian Cheng is Chairman of Hong Kong Academy for Wealth Legacy (HKAWL).  In 2025 April, Hong Kong Academy for Wealth Legacy (HKAWL) & The Emirates Family Office Association (EFOA) signed a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) to form partnership to facilitate dialogues & collaborations for family offices between Greater China & UAE, including allowing EFOA members to join HKAWL training & development activities organized for family office principals & Next-Gen. In 2024 October, Hong Kong Financial Services & Treasury Bureau  (FSTB) and Bloomberg will be launching a joint initiative Hong Kong Family Office Nexus to deliver a series of projects & resources to the Hong Kong family office sector, and will work closely with InvestHK & Hong Kong Academy for Wealth Legacy. In 2024 September, the Hong Kong Academy for Wealth Legacy (HKAWL) hosted the 3-day Legacy Summit fall edition 2024 from 12th to 14th September 2024, attended by 140 family offices & next-generation asset-owners.  In 2024 January, the Hong Kong Financial Services Development Council (FSDC) has announced the appointment of Angel Chia as Executive Director of the Hong Kong Academy for Wealth Legacy (1/3/24).  Angel Chia is currently the Chair of the Family Office Association Hong Kong, and had held senior leadership positions including Chief Strategy Officer of a multi-family office & CEO of overseas operation of a Mainland brokerage firm, and broad international exposure having worked with global financial firms including BNP Paribas & ABN AMRO in Hong Kong, Singapore, New York and Taipei.  In 2023 November, the Hong Kong Financial Services Development Council (FSDC) launched the Hong Kong Academy for Wealth Legacy to strengthen Hong Kong as a global family office hub (14/11/23), appointing New World Development CEO Adrian Cheng Chi-Kong as Chairman, 7 board members Au King-Lun, Roger King, Jeremy Dinshaw Lam, Amy Lo Choi-Wan, Daryl Ng Win Kong, Joseph Chan Ho-Lim, Charles Ng Siong Kwong and 16 members.
