UK consumer packaged goods giant Unilever ($120 billion market value) has announced to sell & combine sell foods business with United States spices & seasoning food company McCormick for $44.8 billion ($29.1 billion McCormick shares & $15.7 billion cash). Unilever will become largest shareholder of McCormick with 65% stake. McCormick will retain company name, NYSE listing & United States headquarters, and will setup international headquarters in Netherlands & plans for secondary listing in Europe. In 2026 March, Unilever was reported to be in talks to sell food business ($33 billion valuation) to United States spices & seasoning food company McCormick ($14 billion market value) via merger or exit in all-share deal.
