The world’s largest asset manager BlackRock ($14 trillion AUM) has launched a new long-only ASEAN systematic active rquity strategy (BF1 Advantage Asean Equity Fund) in 2026 April (27/4/26) under the Singapore MAS $5.1 billion (S$6.5 billion) Equity Market Development Programme (EQDP) to invest in 100 to 300 securities in ASEAN countries including in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines & Vietnam, with 50% allocation to Singapore equities (Focus on small & mid-cap companies). The new fund BF1 Advantage Asean Equity Fund is managed by BlackRock Portfolio Managers Ryan Kim & Filip Mena-Berlin. In 2026 April, the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) increased the Equity Market Development Programme (EQDP) by $1.2 billion (S$1.5 billion) to $5.1 billion (S$6.5 billion) from $4 billion (S$5 billion), with $3.1 billion (S$3.95 billion) already allocated to 9 asset managers in 2 tranches to Amova Asset Management (Previously Nikko Asset Management), AR Capital, BlackRock, Eastspring Investments, Lion Global Investors, Manulife Investment Management, Avanda Investment Management, Fullerton Fund Management & JP Morgan Asset Management.
