HSBC Appoints Fidelis Oruche as New Global Head of Capital Markets and Investments & Wealth Solutions Platforms

HSBC has appointed Fidelis Oruche as the new Global Head of Capital Markets and Investments & Wealth Solutions Platforms for HSBC Wealth & Personal Banking (WPB) business with effect from 1st March 2022. Fidelis Oruche joins from Bank of Singapore where he was the Managing Director and Head of Alternative Investments & Managed Solutions, and had a depth of investment and leadership experience across multiple assets classes at Standard Chartered, Lehman Brothers, AIG and Merrill Lynch. Fidelis Oruche will develop capital markets products and platforms across Personal, Premier & Global Private Banking (GPB) clients, enhance online trading offering for clients, and collaborate with investment bank and global business partner. HSBC Investments & Wealth Solutions (IWS), is a newly created unit within Wealth & Personal Banking (WPB) that is responsible for the development and rollout of best in class, in-house and third-party wealth products and solutions, securities based lending and market insights. The unit covers discretionary, advisory, alternatives (which includes hedge funds, private equity and real estate), equities, fixed income, structured products, mutual funds & ETFs, securities based lending, trust and investments, and FX. Based in Singapore, Fidelis Oruche will report to Lavanya Chari, who is HSBC Global Head of Investments & Wealth Solutions (IWS).

Fidelis Oruche, HSBC Global Head of Capital Markets and Investments & Wealth Solutions Platforms
Fidelis Oruche joins HSBC from Bank of Singapore, where he was most recently Managing Director, Head of Alternative Investments & Managed Solutions. Prior to this role, he was the Head of Investment Advisory & Sales where he led teams of advisors and product specialists in Singapore, Hong Kong and Dubai responsible for providing advisory and execution services in Fixed income, Foreign Exchange, Equities, Structured Products, Derivatives, Funds Solutions and Private Equity. Fidelis has over two decades of experience in financial services, including over 15 years in investment banking where he focused on FX derivatives in both trading and management roles, in large global organisations across Europe and Asia.
He will be responsible for the development of capital markets products and platforms across Personal, Premier and Global Private Banking (GPB) clients, Fidelis will continue to enhance the focus of WPB’s online trading offering for clients, collaborating with the investment bank and global business partners. Based in Singapore, Fidelis Oruche will report to Lavanya Chari, who is HSBC Global Head of Investments & Wealth Solutions (IWS).
