Franklin Templeton with $1.4 trillion AUM (Assets under Management) has hired BlackRock Nicholas Chui as Portfolio Manager for Franklin Templeton Emerging Markets Equity in the China investment team, taking over the leading role from Michael Lai (retiring) in managing China equity strategies. Nicholas Chui has more than 14 years of investment experience in China & Asia equities, joining from BlackRock (Portfolio Manager, China equity strategy) and prior, was at asset manager abrdn for 10 years (Deputy Head of its Hong Kong & China Equity team, Lead Manager China A shares Equity Strategy). Nicholas Chui holds a Bachelor of Accountancy from Singapore Management University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Accountant of Singapore charter holder. Nicholas Chui reports to Sukumar Rajah, who is Senior Managing Director, Director of Portfolio Management for Franklin Templeton Emerging Markets Equity.
