Private equity secondaries BEX Capital ($1.3 billion AUM, Assets under Management) founder & Chief Investment Officer Benjamin Revillon has died at age of 47 after years of illness, having founded BEX Capital in 2010 and formerly with ABN AMRO, Deutsche Bank & AlpInvest Partners. BEX Capital focuses on fund-of-funds secondaries, operating on a global scale and provides liquidity solution to the private equity secondaries market with investments of $5 million to $1 billion. BEX Capital has 6 partners (Benjamin Revillon, Erwin Roex, Thomas Carbonel, Alexis Ferrer, Stephane Chevrier, Youssef Kameche. It is with great sadness that we have to let you, his many friends and business partners, know that on the evening of Sunday May 28, Benjamin Revillon, our founder, has passed away at the age of 47. He had been struggling with illness for the past few years.
In the knowledge that he did not have much time left, Benjamin was planning to send the following message to his friends in the market: “I am immensely proud of the business we have built, and of the team of talented individuals BEX has managed to attract. They have been instrumental in generating the excellent results BEX Capital has realised for its investors. It is therefore with sadness that I now have decided, in the long-term interest of the business and its investors, to hand over the reigns of the company to the team, in the full confidence that BEX Capital will continue to perform for its investors.”
Alas, he was not given the time to hit the send button.
We wish Julie, his wife, and Timothée and Céleste, their children, all the necessary strength and fortitude to overcome the difficult period ahead in the knowledge that all of us at BEX will be there for them.
We all mourn his loss.
