Former Head of Bank of China Guangdong Kaiping Branch Xu Guojun Sentenced to Jail for Life in $483 Million Corruption & Embezzlement Between 1993 to 2001, Fled to United States in 2001 & Repatriated to China in November 2021

The former Head of Bank of China Guangdong Kaiping branch Xu Guojun had been sentenced to jail for life in Bank of China $483 million corruption & embezzlement (1993 to 2001), fleeing to United States in 2001 and repatriated 20 years later to China in November 2021.  After the offences were exposed in 2002, Interpol had issued a red notice to track Xu Guojun.  At Bank of China, Xu Guojun and other bank officers had embezzled funds using fake loans to embezzle $483 million from 1993 to 2001.  Other bank officers had also been convicted, including Xu Chaofan sentenced to 13 years jail in 2021, and Yu Zhendong sentenced to 12 years jail in 2006.
