European asset manager Amundi with $2.1 trillion AUM (Assets under Management) has hired State Street Global Advisors Fundamental Value Equities CIO Barry Glavin as Amundi Head of Equity Investment Platform, with CPR Asset Management Vafa Ahmadi taking on an expanded role as Head of Global Thematic Equity for Amundi. Amundi (28/3/24): ”Amundi announces today that it is strengthening its Equity set-up with the appointment of Barry Glavin as Head of Equity Investment Platform. Vafa Ahmadi, Head of Thematic Equities for CPR Asset Management, will expand his role to oversee Global Thematic Equity for Amundi.” Profile of Barry Glavin, Head of Equity Investment Platform – Prior to joining Amundi, Barry was the Chief Investment Officer of State Street Global Advisors’ Fundamental Value Equities team since 2013. He was previously Head of Research, Fundamental Equities. He joined State Street Global Advisors in 2006 from HSBC Asset Management where he was a portfolio manager, then an equity analyst between 2000 and 2006. Barry began his career in finance as an exchange-traded derivatives broker. Barry is a graduate in Politics and Philosophy from University College Dublin, and is a CFA charterholder.
