China electric vehicle & supplier Seres Group ($16.5 billion market value) has filed for a secondary IPO on Hong Kong Exchange (HKEX).  Seres Group was founded in 1986 as Sokon Group (Chongqing Baxian Fenghuang Electronic Factory) by Zhang Xinghai, and renamed to Seres Group in 2022.  Seres Group (Sokon Group) IPO on Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2016.  Seres Group – Founded in 1986, SERES is an automotive technology company that specializes in new energy vehicles. With a workforce of more than 16,000 people, we are one of China’s largest enterprises, and we are publicly traded on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.  We focus on research and development, production, sales, and servicing of new energy vehicles and their critical components, like powertrains, batteries, and electric motors.  The name SERES is derived from the ancient Greek ‘Land of Silk’ (referring to China), which stands for the East and symbolizes luxury.  SERES is a technology-based manufacturing enterprise with new energy vehicles as its core business. The business area of SERES covers R&D, manufacturing, sales & services of NEVs, and the core components, such as batteries, motors, and electronic control systems.
