Australia asset manager First Sentier Investors ($134 billion AUM) has hired ex-American Century Investments 11-year veteran Jamie Downing as Head of Distribution EMEA. Jamie Downing has 24 years of asset management industry experience at Russell Investments, American Century Investments & bfinance ($290 billion AuA). First Sentier Investors was acquired by Mitsubishi UFJ Trust & Banking Corporation (Subsidiary of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group) in August 2019, and operates as a standalone global investment management business with offices across Europe, the Americas, and the Asia Pacific). Announcement (29/4/25): “First Sentier Investors, a leading global investment manager, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jamie Downing as the new Head of Distribution in EMEA, as the business continues to strengthen its global distribution team. In his new role, Downing will oversee both wholesale and institutional distribution in the EMEA region, complementing the existing team, with a specific focus on the UK, Nordics and Middle East markets. He will also be responsible for collaborating with Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, First Sentier Investors’ owner, to explore and deliver new investment opportunities for clients in the region. Downing will be based in London and brings a wealth of experience in the global asset management industry, with deep expertise in business development, client service and sustainable finance. In 2024 November, First Sentier Investors announced the appointment of 14-year veteran Harry Moore as Chief Commercial Officer and 10-year veteran Lauren Prendiville as Global Head of Distribution & Marketing (effective 2025 January). In 2024 June, First Sentier Investors appointed Christy Goh as Head of Intermediary Business for Asia & CEO Singapore (18 years with First Sentier, Joined in 2006), and Marcus Ong appointed as Head of Institutional Business for Asia. 29th November 2024 – Asset manager First Sentier Investors ($157 billion AUM) has announced the appointment of 14-year veteran Harry Moore as Chief Commercial Officer and 10-year veteran Lauren Prendiville as Global Head of Distribution & Marketing (effective 2025 January). First Sentier Investors (29/11/24): “First Sentier Investors, a leading global investment manager, is pleased to announce two key leadership appointments, effective 1 January 2025. Harry Moore, currently the Global Head of Distribution, Marketing, and Communications is appointed to the newly created role of Chief Commercial Officer; and Lauren Prendiville, currently the Regional Managing Director and Head of Distribution for APAC is appointed as the new Global Head of Distribution and Marketing. Moore has been with First Sentier Investors since June 2010. In May 2020, he was appointed Global Head of Distribution and relocated from Sydney to London. Prior to this role, he served as Managing Director for Australia, New Zealand, and Japan, where he was responsible for business development and client service across these key markets. 14th June 2024 – Asset manager First Sentier Investors with $157 billion AUM has appointed Christy Goh as Head of Intermediary Business for Asia & CEO Singapore (18 years with First Sentier, Joined in 2006), and Marcus Ong appointed as Head of Institutional Business for Asia. Both Christy Goh & Marcus Ong are promoted to the new roles with immediate effect, and will report to Lauren Prendiville (First Sentier Investors Managing Director & Head of Distribution of APAC). First Sentier Investors (13/6/24): “ First Sentier Investors, a leading global investment manager, announced the appointment of Christy Goh as the Head of Intermediary Business, Asia, and CEO, Singapore, and named Marcus Ong as the Head of Institutional Business, Asia. Based in Singapore, Ms Goh will oversee the intermediary business and lead the team in Asia, covering the business and strategy development in both North and Southeast Asia. She was most recently the Head of Distribution, South East Asia. She joined First Sentier Investors in 2006, with more than two decades of experience in the financial industry. Mr Ong will be leading both North and Southeast Asia institutional sales activities. Lauren Prendiville – Lauren Prendiville is the Managing Director and Head of Distribution, Asia Pacific (APAC) for First Sentier Investors. In her role, Lauren is responsible for managing the business in APAC (inclusive of Australia and New Zealand), overseeing the business development and the day-to-day functional operations in the region. Lauren is a member of the executive leadership team and a director on a number of company subsidiary boards. Lauren has over 20 years of asset management experience. Prior to joining First Sentier Investors, Lauren was the Executive Director, Institutional Business Development with Goldman Sachs Asset Management based in London and Singapore. Previously, Lauren was with Morgan Stanley Investment Management and Investec Asset Management, working across multiple client segments including pension funds, central banks, sovereign wealth funds, endowments and private clients. Lauren began her career in South Africa and after spending 10 years in London, she transferred to Singapore in 2009. Lauren holds an Investment Management Certificate and a Certificate in Corporate Governance from INSEAD.
