Lion Global Investors ($53 billion AUM) has appointed Singapore GIC & ex-Eastspring Investment Group CEO Seck Wai Kwong as Chairman (1/5/25). Seck Wai Kwong has more than 44 years of financial & asset management industry experience at Singapore GIC & MAS (Monetary Authority of Singapore), SGX (Singapore Exchange), DBS Bank, Lehman Brothers, State Street (CEO APAC) & Eastspring Investments (CEO) and as Board Member including at OCBC, Singapore GIC, Land Transport Authority, Energy Markets Authority & HKUST Business School. Announcement (5/5/25): “Lion Global Investors (“LGI”) announces the appointment of Mr Seck Wai Kwong as its new Chairman effective 1 May 2025. Mr Seck Wai Kwong brings with him over 40 years of experience in the financial services sector. He retired as the CEO of Eastspring Investment Group in August 2023. Prior to Eastspring, he was CEO, Asia-Pacific of State Street Bank and Trust Company from 2011 to 2019, and has also held senior positions in Singapore Exchange, Monetary Authority of Singapore, GIC, Lehman Brothers and DBS Bank. Mr Seck was conferred the Public Service Medal in 2017, the Public Service Star in 2023 and was appointed to the Public Service Commission in February 2024. Mr Seck is currently a Board Director of OCBC and GIC. He is also a Trustee and chairs the Investment Committee at the Ministry of Home Affairs Uniformed Services INVEST Fund. He holds a Master of Business Administration (with Distinction) from Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Economics (First Class Honours) from Australia’s Monash University where he is a Monash Fellow. With more than four decades of experience and having served on various boards, Mr Seck has amassed deep institutional knowledge, valuable insights and expertise in the financial services industry.”
