France insurance giant AXA Hong Kong & Macau has announced to re-domicile AXA China Region Insurance Company (Bermuda) to Hong Kong under the new Hong Kong Re-domiciliation regime with the company to be renamed to AXA China Region Insurance Company (Hong Kong). The re-domiciliation aligns AXA Hong Kong & Macau (Currently Bermuda) place of registration with operational base in Hong Kong to enhance operational efficiency, long-term benefits to stakeholders & to support Hong Kong status as the leading international financial centre. AXA (23/5/25): “AXA Hong Kong and Macau (“AXA”) hereby announces its intention to re-domicile AXA China Region Insurance Company (Bermuda) Limited (“the Company”) from Bermuda to Hong Kong under the new company re-domiciliation regime introduced by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, subject to regulatory approvals. Upon completion, it is proposed that the Company will be renamed as AXA China Region Insurance Company (Hong Kong) Limited. This re-domiciliation aligns the Company’s place of registration with its operational base in Hong Kong, reinforcing its commitment to the region. The move is expected to enhance operational efficiency, deliver long-term benefits to stakeholders, and support Hong Kong’s status as a leading international financial centre. This process will not impact the continuity of the Company’s legal entity, organisational structure, or daily operations. Existing rights and obligations of its policyholders, distributors or business partners against the Company will remain unaffected, and all existing agreements and commitments will continue in full force and effect.
