Alternative investment marketplace iCapital ($918 billion activity volume) has formed a partnership with Liechtenstein private bank LGT, with the integration of iCapital alternative investment technology platform into LGT banking systems, allowing LGT relationship managers, investment advisors & operations teams to manage alternative investment end-to-end process (including marketing, document repository, reporting & analysis). Announcement (25/6/25): “iCapital, the global fintech platform shaping the future of investing, today announced a strategic partnership with LGT, a leading international private banking and asset management group that has been fully controlled by the Liechtenstein Princely Family for over 90 years. Through this collaboration iCapital and LGT launched a new state-of-the-art technology platform tailored to digitize the lifecycle of LGT’s alternative investment offerings. The platform, integrated into LGT banking systems, provides relationship managers, investment advisors and the operations teams with a seamless interface to manage the end-to-end alternative investment process — from marketing and a centralized document repository to client-specific reporting and analysis. The platform was initially launched in Europe and has since been rolled out globally to improve operational efficiency, transparency, and client engagement across LGT’s global network.” In 2025 May, BlackRock ($11 trillion AUM) launched a customizable Public-Private Model Portfolio in Unified Managed Account (UMA, a privately managed account) with access to private markets & public markets in 1 account. The portfolio in UMA provides advisors with comprehensive investment management capabilities & efficient reporting tools powered by GeoWealth UMA technology (Portfolio rebalancing capabilities in private market) & supported by iCapital Technology capabilities (Streamlined subscription document). BlackRock is a strategic investor in GeoWealth & iCapital. Earlier 2025 May, Citigroup announced to sell indirect subsidiary Citi Global Alternatives representing more than 180 alternative funds globally to private markets fintech iCapital. Citi Global Alternatives provides advisory to Citi Wealth global alternative investment fund platform. Post-Transaction – iCapital will manage & operate the fund platform and Citi will remain as distributor of alternative funds to clients. In 2025 February, iCapital assets in Asia increased to over $14 billion, has operations in Singapore, Hong Kong & Tokyo and will setup offices in Australia & Middle East by 2025 April. In 2024 October, iCapital global assets has increased to over $200 billion in 2024 September from $100 billion in 2021. iCapital platform provides access to 600 asset managers with 1,630 funds, and was used by 104,000 financial professionals with transactions in the last 1 year. In 2024 October, Bank of Singapore & iCapital announced the launch of alternative investment digital platform FIM Alternatives Select for financial intermediary partners (Independent Asset Managers) to access alternative investments including hedge funds & private equity funds. Around 30 funds will be available initially including funds from KKR, Carlyle Group & Apollo. The FIM Alternatives Select Platform will also provide due diligence reports & tools for users. In 2024 September, Alternative investment marketplace iCapital will be integrating into HSBC Private Banking platform, providing private market investment access to relationship managers, investment advisors & operations team. The initial deployment will be into HSBC Private Banking Hong Kong & Singapore. In 2024 July, iCapital hired Goldman Sachs Tuan Lam as Head of APAC.
