India autoparts company Hero Motors has filed for a India IPO to raise $140 million. Hero Motors owner is Brijmohan Lall Munjal family which owns India 2-wheeler giant Hero MotoCorp ($9.9 billion market value), was founded in 1984 by Brijmohan Lall Munjal. Hero Cycles was founded in 1956. Hero Motors – Hero Motors is part of the HMC group, a diversified conglomerate with interests in automotive components, E-Mobility, cycles, real estate and premium retail, with the group revenue of USD 700 million. The automotive businesses of the group under Hero Motors Limited comprises two business verticals. Powertrain Solutions and Allloys & Metallics. Hero Motors specializes in designing, manufacturing & supplying highly engineered powertrain solutions catering to automotive OEMs in US, Europe, India and ASEAN region. Leveraging the capabilities of Hewland Engineering Limited, a Hero Motors Company, Hero Motors is a fully integrated powertrain systems provider offering comprehensive solutions for designing, validating, developing, and delivering system-level transmission solutions for both electric as well as non-electric powertrains and metallic components. Our products find application in two-wheelers, performance automotive, e-bikes, off-road vehicles, electric and hybrid cars, heavy duty vehicles, and electric vertical take-off and landing (“eVTOL”) categories. We cater to requirements of global original equipment manufacturers (“OEMs”). We are recognized for our leadership in the development and production of continuously variable transmission (“CVT”) technology, electric vehicle (“EV”) transmissions, electric motors, integrated drive units and gear sets. We were among the first companies in India to capitalize on the global e-bike powertrain opportunity and have a distinct first mover advantage in this industry. We commenced operations in 2004 with our A&M segment, focusing on sheet metal component manufacturing, machining of casting products and other sheet metal components.
