Investcorp ($55 billion AUM) 30-year veteran & ex-Co-CEO Hazem Ben-Gacem 9-month old private equity firm BlueFive Capital has raised $2 billion for first private equity fund (BlueFive Reef Private Equity Fund I), investing in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region in 5 key sectors (Healthcare, Technology, Hospitality, Aviation & Industrial). The fund is managed from UAE Abu Dhabi, and is registered with Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM). BlueFive Capital was founded in 2024 November by Hazem Ben-Gacem, who was with Investcorp for more than 30 years and held senior leadership roles including as Co-CEO (2018 to 2024), Head of European Private Equity & Head of Global Technology Investment. Announcement (10/7/25): “BlueFive Capital, a global investment firm, today announced that it concluded raising the BlueFive Reef Private Equity Fund I. The $2 billion fund is registered with the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) and targets large cap GCC private equity investments. The Fund will be managed from Abu Dhabi and target majority and minority investments in sizeable high-growth businesses and conglomerates across the UAE and the broader GCC, with a focus on five key sectors: Healthcare, Technology, Hospitality, Aviation, and Industrial. The Fund will leverage the region’s economic growth momentum and its increasing position as the gateway to various regions and economies in the world, both East and West.
