Singapore $660 Million Sasseur REIT Manager Sasseur Commercial Management Group ex-CFO Xie Jianfeng Charged for Insider Trading of Sasseur REIT from 2020 to 2021, Resigned on 26th September 2025 to Pursue Other Business Opportunities in China

Singapore Sasseur REIT ($660 million market value) manager Sasseur Commercial Management Group ex-CFO Xie Jianfeng has been charged for insider trading of Sasseur REIT from 2020 to 2021.  Xie Jianfeng had resigned on 26th September 2025 to pursue other business opportunities in China.  Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) 3/10/25: “Mr Xie Jianfeng was charged today for offences under the Securities and Futures Act (SFA) [1] . The charges relate to his trading of units in Sasseur Real Estate Investment Trust (Sasseur REIT) between 18 March 2020 and 22 February 2021. Sasseur REIT is a collective investment scheme listed on the Mainboard of the Singapore Exchange.  During the material period, Mr Xie was employed by Sasseur Commercial Management Group Private Limited, a corporation related to Sasseur Asset Management Pte Ltd, the manager of Sasseur REIT. On two occasions in February 2021, Mr Xie purchased Sasseur REIT units while in possession of non-public information concerning the financial results of Sasseur REIT for FY2020. He also used his trading account to trade in Sasseur REIT units on behalf of his colleagues without notifying brokerage firm CGS-CIMB Securities Pte Ltd (CGS-CIMB) that he was not the sole beneficial owner of the Sasseur REIT units in his account.  As a result of his misconduct, Mr Xie faces two charges of insider trading in Sasseur REIT units under section 218(1A) of the SFA and one charge under section 201(b) of the SFA for deceiving CGS-CIMB.  The investigation was jointly conducted by the Monetary Authority of Singapore and the Commercial Affairs Department of the Singapore Police Force. If convicted, Mr Xie faces imprisonment for a term which may extend to a maximum of 7 years, or a fine of up to $250,000, or both, for each charge under section 218(1)(A) SFA and section 201(b) SFA.”
