Canada alternative asset manager Onex ($55 billion AUM) & AIG have announced to buy speciality insurer Convex for $7 billion. Onex will own 63% & AIG will own 35% of Convex. AIG will also acquire 9.9% equity stake in Onex, and has committed $2 billion to Onex private equity & credit strategies over the next 3 years.
