Switzerland agriculture group Syngenta is reported to be planning for Hong Kong IPO after cancelling Shanghai IPO application in 2024 March to raise $9.1 billion with $60 billion enterprise value. Syngenta was acquired by China National Chemical Corp in 2017. Syngenta was formed in 2000 with the merger of Novartis Agribusiness & AstraZeneca Agrochemicals. In 2024 March, Switzerland agriculture group Syngenta cancelled the IPO plan on Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) to raise $9.1 billion (CNY 65 billion) with $60 billion enterprise value. In 2023, Syngenta had received IPO approval from the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) but will still need to get approval from China’s securities regulator to be able to list on Shanghai Stock Exchange.
