Philippines $2 Billion Flood-Control Projects Corruption – 1) Syms Construction Trading owner Sally Santos had withdrew $7.8 million in cash from bank (Reported from court trial), 2) 70% of government funds for flood-control projects estimated to have been lost to corruption.  In 2025 December, a Philippines court granted asset freeze on 2 Philippines lawmakers Eric Yap & Edvic Yap (brothers) & 2 contractors. Philippines government has reported $220 million assets frozen (Include 4,679 bank accounts, 283 insurance policies, 255 vehicles, 178 properties, 16 e-wallet accounts & 3 securities accounts.  In 2025 December, the Philippines government was attempting to freeze a private jet Gulfstream G350 (Pricing: $36 million, Pre-owned Pricing: $13 million) in Singapore & 2 AgustaWestland helicopters in Malaysia for corruption belonging to ex-Philippines politician & now-fugitive Elizaldy “Zaldy” Salcedo Co (Sunwest Group CEO & Misibis Bay Resort Chairman).  The corruption is linked to Philippines flood-control projects.  In 2025 September, Philippines Money Laundering & Corruption Cases – 1) Philippines central bank ordered banks to conduct enhanced due diligence for cash withdrawal exceeding $8,700 (PHP 500,000) in 1 day to combat money laundering, and 2) Philippines Anti-Money Laundering Council has secured a court order to freeze 592 bank accounts in suspected corruption linked to Philippines flood-control projects.
