United States Las-Vegas based airline Allegiant ($1.6 billion market value) has announced to buy Minnesota-based Sun Country Airlines in merger for $1.5 billion in cash & stock deal representing +19.8% premium to closing price (9/1/26) to create a $3.1 billion airline giant. Allegiant shareholders will own 67% of combined company & Sun Country Airlines shareholders will own 33%. Allegiant – Las Vegas-based Allegiant (NASDAQ: ALGT) is an integrated travel company with an airline at its heart, focused on connecting customers with the people, places, and experiences that matter most. Since 1999, Allegiant Air has linked travelers in small-to-medium cities to world-class vacation destinations with all-nonstop flights and industry-low average fares. Today, Allegiant’s fleet serves communities across the nation, with base airfares less than half the cost of the average domestic roundtrip ticket. Sun Country Airlines – Sun Country Airlines is a new breed of hybrid low-cost air carrier, whose mission is to connect guests to their favorite people and places to create lifelong memories and transformative experiences.
