United States shale gas giant Devon Energy ($26 billion market value) has announced to buy United States Coterra Energy for $21.4 billion in all-share merger to create $58 billion shale giant.  Devon Energy was founded in 1971 by John Nichols & his son Larry Nichols.  Coterra Energy was founded in 1989 as Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation.  Devon Energy – Devon Energy is a leading oil and gas producer in the U.S. with a diversified multi-basin portfolio headlined by a world-class acreage position in the Delaware Basin.
