UBS China joint venture fund manager UBS SDIC Fund Management will compensate investors after receiving 200,000+ complaints on change in silver benchmark without prior notice (After trading close on 2/2/26) on China-listed open-ended fund (LOF) UBS SDIC Silver Futures Fund LOF (Benchmark changed from Shanghai Futures Exchange pricing to international market pricing).  The change in silver benchmark caused larger losses to 31.5% loss using international market pricing instead of Shanghai Futures Exchange pricing loss at 17% daily limit.  UBS SDIC Fund Management will provide investors with tiered-compensation.  In 2026 February, China suspended 5 commodity funds including UBS SDIC Silver Futures Fund to reduce investment risks of gold, silver & oil led by excessive speculation.  UBS SDIC Silver Futures Fund (Suspended full-day on 30/1/26) traded at +36% premium to Shanghai Futures Exchange silver contract.  UBS SDIC Silver Futures Fund is the only publicly traded fund in China making direct investments in silver futures.  UBS SDIC – UBS SDIC is the first JV fund manager in mainland China, owned by SDIC with 51% share ownership and UBS AG with 49% share ownership. State Development & Investment Corporation (SDIC) is China state-owned.
