United States $14 billion agricultural giant Bunge is in talks with a potential merger with Glencore-Backed Viterra (Canada, privately held) to create a $30 billion agricultural trading group. Viterra was acquired for $6.1 billion by Glencore in 2013. Viterra key shareholders include Glencore, Canada Pension Plan Investment Board & British Columbia Investment Management Corp. Viterra is a fully integrated agriculture network connecting producers to consumers with sustainable, traceable and quality-controlled agricultural products. Bunge is a global leader in agribusiness, food and ingredients, and has a market capitalization of $14.1 billion (9/6/23). Glencore is one of the world’s largest global diversified natural resource companies and a major producer and marketer of more than 60 commodities. Glencore has market capitalization of $67.8 billion (9/6/23).
