Facebook parent Meta has issued a new $10 billionbond in 4 tranches: 5-year ($2.75 billion, Treasury +0.75%), 10-year ($3 billion, +1.15%), 30-year ($2.75 billion, +1.45%) and 40-year ($1.5 billion, +1.65%). This is Meta (Facebook previously) first-ever bond offering, with the $10 billion to be used to fund share buybacks and investments to revamp its business. Meta, which is the parent company of Facebook, WhatsApp & Instagram, reported $40.5 billion of cash & marketable securitiesin June 2022.For 2021/2022 earnings ending March 2022, Meta reported $119 billion in revenue and over $54 billion in EBITA.(In May 2022, Meta Platforms announced that its Class A common stock will begin trading on NASDAQ under the ticker symbol ‘META’ prior to market open on June 9, 2022. This will replace the company’s current ticker symbol ‘FB’, which has been used since its initial public offering in 2012. The new ticker symbol aligns with the company’s rebranding from Facebook to Meta, announced on October 28, 2021.)
