Pakistan former Prime Minister Imran Khan & wife Bushra Khan had been sentenced to jail for 14 years for selling state gifts (31/1/24). Imran Khan had received on the previous day (30/1/24) a 10-year jail sentence for leaking government secrets, and ex-foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi was also sentenced to jail for 10 years for leaking government secrets. In 2022, Imran Khan was shot in his leg in an assassination attempt (shot in thigh, pellets in leg, bone chipped), with 1 person killed and others injured. Earlier in April 2022, Imran Khan was ousted as Pakistan Prime Minister (Prime Minister 2018 to 2022), receiving a no-confidence vote. Imran Khan is the founder & chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI, one of the largest political party in Pakistan) and a former national tram captain & cricket player, and winning the 1992 Cricket World Cup. In 2021, Pakistan has an estimated GDP of $346 billion with 225 million population, the 5th largest population in the world (China, India, United States, Indonesia, Pakistan).
