United States asset manager GMO ($63 billion AUM) has hired Goldman Sachs Dexter Chua as Head of Intermediary Business Asia ex-Japan, effective immediately (30/9/24). Dexter Chua has more than 15 years of asset management industry experience at Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan & BNP Paribas. GMO (30/9/24): “Grantham, Mayo, Van Otterloo LLC (GMO), a global investment manager, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dexter Chua as Head of Intermediary Business Asia (ex-Japan) for GMO Singapore, effective immediately. In this role, Dexter will drive GMO’s client engagement strategy and its business growth from financial intermediaries in the region. With over fifteen years of industry experience, Dexter joins GMO from Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where he served as an Executive Director and Head of Southeast Asia, Third Party Wealth Business, for more than nine years. In this capacity, he was instrumental in developing strategic relationships and driving significant growth in assets under management across the Southeast Asian market. Prior to his tenure at GSAM, Dexter was a Client Advisor in the Funds sales team at J.P. Morgan Asset Management after beginning his career at BNP Asset Management. Chua holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Finance from Singapore Management University. His strong academic background, combined with his professional experience, positions him well to navigate the complexities of the asset management landscape and drive GMO’s strategic initiatives in the region.”
