UK packaged food giant Unilever ($148 billion market value) has announced to by men personal care brand Dr Squatch for $1.5 billion from private equity group Summit Partners ($46 billion AUM). Dr Squatch was founded in 2013 by Jack Haldrup. Unilever was founded in 1929 by Margarine Unie & Lever Brothers. Unilever brands include Dove, Sunsilk, Lux, PONDS’, Rexona, Vaseline, Lipton, Knorr, Ben & Jerry’s, Cornetto, Magnum & Wall’s.
