Sumer was co-founded in 2023 by ex-KPMG UK COO Warren Mead (Sumer CEO) & Gareth Libbey (Sumer COO). Sumer Chair is ex-Equiom Group CEO Sheila Dean. Sumer key investors are Penta Capital & BlackRock. Since 2023, Sumer has completed 34 acquisitions, buying stakes in small accounting practices in UK. Sumer – Sumer is the UK’s leading mid-market accountancy practice delivering professional support to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across the UK. It is a top 15 UK accountancy practice on a mission to champion SME businesses and offer local delivery supported by national expertise. Sumer is a buy & build focused on the UK and Ireland SME accountancy market. The plan is to create the in the UK and Ireland’s leading business service champion for on the SME. The business brings together the benefits of a scale national platform supporting the delivery of best in class services to clients locally. The business is led by Warren Mead as CEO. Warren has a wealth of experience in in the accountancy sector having held multiple senior leadership positions within KPMG over the course of his career. He has an excellent track record of managing and growing large business service operations, latterly as COO of KPMG UK’s non-audit business and a main executive committee member. He is supported by a deep bench of executive talent in the Sumer central team, all with extensive experience in both accountancy and the broader business services landscape. The board is led by Sheila Dean as Chair. Sheila has significant experience with private equity backed businesses having delivered strong returns successive private equity sponsors over the course of her career as the CEO of Equiom Group.
