Singapore Ricky Au multi-billion private investment company & family office Sun Venture has appointed ex-Temasek & private equity veteran Yueh Pyng (YP) Chiang as Chief Investment Officer (CIO). Yueh Pyng (YP) Chiang has 16 years of private equity & investment banking experience at Deutsche Bank, Ares Management Corporation, Temasek & Sun Venture, and held senior roles including as Head of Investment and Head of Private Equity & Real Estate. Sun Venture was founded by Ricky Au in 2006 and invests in private equity, real estate, public equities, fixed income, and alternatives. Yueh Pyng (YP) CHIANG, Chief Investment Officer – Yueh Pyng (YP) CHIANG serves as Chief Investment Officer at Sun Venture, where he is responsible for developing and executing the firm’s investment strategy in alignment with the organisation’s long-term objectives. He joined Sun Venture as Head of Private Equity and later expanded his mandate to include oversight of the firm’s real estate portfolio before assuming his current leadership position. He currently serves on the boards of PSB Academy Pte Ltd, Wang Learning Centre Pte Ltd and PSGourmet Pte Ltd. Prior to joining Sun Venture, YP was part of the Investment Group at Temasek, where he managed a range of global public and private equity investments. He previously served as Vice President at Crescent Point Group (acquired by Ares Management Corporation), a private equity and special situations firm focused on China and Southeast Asia. He also worked as an investment banker with Deutsche Bank in Singapore. YP holds a Bachelor of Accountancy (First Class Honours) from Nanyang Technological University. Ricky Au – Ricky Au is the Chairman of Sun Venture. His entrepreneurial journey began in the late 1980s when he successfully invested in real estate and built several thriving businesses. In 2006, he incorporated Legend Investment Holdings in Hong Kong to formally consolidate his investments under a structured framework. Subsequently, Ricky founded Sun Venture, with a focus on commercial real estate investments spanning development, core, core-plus, and value-add strategies. Under his leadership, Sun Venture achieved significant growth, establishing itself as a prominent player in Singapore’s real estate market. Building on the success in real estate, Ricky set a clear vision to strategically diversify the firm’s portfolio and position it for sustainable, long-term growth. This led to the establishment of a private equity division focused on direct investments, along with a fund of funds division which invests across a highly diversified range of asset classes globally.
