United States sports and entertainment investment firm Bruin Capital ($2.5 billion AUM) has announced to buy 15% stake in UK sports media and promotion company Matchroom at $1.3 billion (£1 billion) valuation from Matchroom majority owner (Hearn family). Matchroom was founded in 1982 by Barry Hearn. Bruin Capital was founded in 2015 by George Pyne (ex-NASCAR COO, ex-IMG President). Matchroom – Matchroom Sport owns, produces, and promotes sporting events.
